I wrote rebellion because I was thinking of our video propos and how it is a big part in mockingjay. I also wrote this because it seems like everything that happens in this world someone always has to fight back and it's like a never ending sequence similar to rebellion.
Great points Javier and Ivana! There are so many symbols that relate to the Mockingjay - it being the symbol of the rebellion, Katniss becoming the face of the rebellion and as a result being referred to as the Mockingjay, etc. etc.
Javier - do you think that sequence will ever end? Why/Why not?
I was absent the day that we did this board but I can tell that a lot of it has to do with Mockingjay/THG Series. All of the messages are short and to the point, which I really like. I have lots of questions regarding this board: -What is its theme? -Why is "Lady GaGa Cake" up there? -Is "If We Burn, You Burn With Us" the main idea behind the board? -Why is "Loco Peeta" written?
If I was as school on Friday, I would probably have written "Chain Reaction" because if something happens, it leads to another thing and that thing leads to another thing and it just keeps going and going just like in a war when one country retaliates the other does too so it just goes back and forth in a never ending cycle.
I think that chain reaction would be a very good example of what happens in Mockingjay because if Katniss does something Peeta would get punished by the Capitol for it.
I wrote Lady GaGa cake because that was the story that we had heard on CNN news and i thouhgt i twas interesting so i wrote it.One question i have is why is *loca peeta written*.
I wrote battle for freedom because in Mockingjay katniss is fighting against the capitol for freedom, so the capitol wont own them no more, to stop being a piece in their games.
I wrote: "If I go, you're going down with me". I wrote this because I was thinking that the two sayings: "If I go, you're going down with me" and "We burn, you burn with us" were similar and it' the first thing that came to mind. I was also thinking about this in literal terms. I once tripped Aileen and she pulled me down with her so that kinda fits in. One question I have is:Loco Peeta? Are you trying to say that Peeta's crazy?
I wrote "Nuclear War" because in the middle was "We burn you burn with us!!!!" and earlier that day we were watching CNN news and they were discussing Korean nuclear weapons which made me think about war so i put them together and got nuclear war.
Javier - I think we are a long way from that ever happening. It probably doesn't seem like it sometimes because you hear about nuclear weapons in the news, but there is a lot that would have to happen to get us to that point.
I didn't get the opportunity to write on this wall but if I did I would of wrote "Equal with the rich and the poor" because in the Hunger Games trilogy the rich(Capitol) and the poor(District citizens) had unequal power with one another. The Capitol took and controlled almost everything from the District citizens. Now the District 13 members are trying to get their equality by taking down the Capitol.
For this graffiti wall, i wrote the words "We Remember". I wrote this because I thought that this was a good way to remember all of the people who died in war, or shootings like Sandy Hook. This was also a choice of a project to do for reading class. This was used in the book Mockingjay to remember all of the dead tributes, so I thought that this would be a way to help remember the people who died.
I didnt write anything this week because I was going to other classes collecting grad fees but, I can see a lot of people wrote things relating to Mockingjay. (Propos, Events in book, etc.) As well as other things not related to the book and im not sure why but overall, good week.
I wrote "Kids with GUNS" because I think that the people with more power (like mom, or dad people) will make their kids get mad, and have them carry guns and fight then. Also, why "loco Peeta"?
I wrote Control & Power. I wrote this because I think that because of the discussions we had this week and all the recent news, sometimes theirs too much Control in a single place/area for example in the Hunger Games the capital is the one who has too much control over the districts and way to much power over everything in Panem.
I wrote "Sadness and Desperation" because in Mockingjay Katniss was sad because she didn't have Peeta by her side ans was desperate to get her back. Also why did someone put Loco Peeta?
Sergio, I agree with your thought 100%. I really think that Katniss was really upset about losing Peeta and I REALLY HOPE HE STILL LOVES HER BECAUSE #TeamPatniss
Also, why do you think that Katniss was so upset? Katniss was never sure if she actually loved Peeta or not.
I did not get the opportunity to write on this poster but if I did, I would have put "We're not going down without a fight". I put this because in this quote they are stating that the dominant side will be brought down if the weaker side is too. Going down without a fight means not giving up which in my opinion is the meaning of this quote.

ReplyDeleteWhenever there's anything related to Mockingjay, rebellion is always related to it.
DeleteDid you only write Rebellion?
DeleteGreat points Javier and Ivana! There are so many symbols that relate to the Mockingjay - it being the symbol of the rebellion, Katniss becoming the face of the rebellion and as a result being referred to as the Mockingjay, etc. etc.

I can't wait to see your video propos!
--Where is the Week 6 Graffiti Board?--

On CNN news there was a story about a lady gaga cake....Mrs.Alikakos said to write something that was happening.Thay is why i wrote that.
DeleteI think that chain reaction would be a very good example of what happens in Mockingjay because if Katniss does something Peeta would get punished by the Capitol for it.
DeleteChain Reaction - love this concept.
DeleteVanessa - your example is excellent!
Chain reactions work towards the positive too . . . makes me think of Yoko Ono, and her artwork for peace. Think our trees will create one? I hope so!
I wrote Lady GaGa cake because that was the story that we had heard on CNN news and i thouhgt i twas interesting so i wrote it.One question i have is why is *loca peeta written*.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion this is unnecessary to this subject. But at the same time creative. :)
DeleteI wrote battle for freedom because in Mockingjay katniss is fighting against the capitol for freedom, so the capitol wont own them no more, to stop being a piece in their games.

ReplyDeleteI think that's what they're trying to say. He's loco.
DeleteWhat does this mean to you personally? And of course if you drop me im gonna drop you -_- That was fun though
Delete@Birdie- Hey Glenda why's your name Birdie?
DeleteI wrote "Nuclear War" because in the middle was "We burn you burn with us!!!!" and earlier that day we were watching CNN news and they were discussing Korean nuclear weapons which made me think about war so i put them together and got nuclear war.
ReplyDeleteI like how you connected things happening in the real world to parts of the book.
DeleteI like the way you connected the two things eventually I think there might be nuclear war at one point which would be deadly.
DeleteI like how you made those connections too Jalyn!
DeleteJavier - I think we are a long way from that ever happening. It probably doesn't seem like it sometimes because you hear about nuclear weapons in the news, but there is a lot that would have to happen to get us to that point.
I wrote fire is catching because its one of the famous quotes Katniss says in one of the propos.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think this quote represents?
DeleteGreat question Max!
DeleteThat's one of my favorite propos . . . so powerful and loaded with meaning.

ReplyDeleteI like what you wrote Aileen it is really deep.
DeleteI agree Sergio - well said Aileen! Can you think of a real-world connection to this uneven distribution of control and power?
DeleteI wrote "Sadness and Desperation" because in Mockingjay Katniss was sad because she didn't have Peeta by her side ans was desperate to get her back. Also why did someone put Loco Peeta?
ReplyDeletePeeta doesnt love Katniss anymore. :(
DeleteSergio, I agree with your thought 100%. I really think that Katniss was really upset about losing Peeta and I REALLY HOPE HE STILL LOVES HER BECAUSE #TeamPatniss
DeleteAlso, why do you think that Katniss was so upset? Katniss was never sure if she actually loved Peeta or not.
I wrote Its Cold because lately the weather has been really freezing. Now, the weather is starting to warm up a little bit.

ReplyDeleteWho do you think is the dominant side in the Hunger Games, Jeameril? Can you think of a real-world example that is similar?
