I posted 'Theyre turning us into monsters' because I think that people of higher power are not following our wants and needs and they make us turn into monsters/rebels by not following the people. I want to know why someone drew a box for this board.
I agree with you on how people with higher power should listen to ones that are lower than them. I think someone mentioned that the box went to think outside of the box. To think of things in a different way.
I wrote "Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness" because these words are what many nations that are under the control by a corrupt government want to have. A question that I have is why did someone draw a box? What does it mean?
I agree with you I do think that's what many nations want to have "Life, Liberty, and The pursuit of happiness but since they are under the control of a corrupted government they can't do anything but follow them. Like in the Hunger Games all the rebels that didn't want to be under presidents snow control. So they rebelled against the Capitol for a change like many people want.
I think that "Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness" are really meaningful words when it comes to rebellion/revolution. Our country was formed by a rebellion against the powers that controlled it and we won our freedom. I think that this is one of the many cases that shows how if you try really hard you can do anything. C:
were you thinking that like the illegal graffiti that people in like gangs or people that like to be bad do the graffiti. And maybe they do this because there a kind of group of rebels, against maybe.... society?
I didn't write on this wall but I was going to write not everyone has it fair because in the interrupters mostly all the people in the documentary struggled and had a rough life
For tree number 4 I wrote "Mitt Romney" because we were discussing rebellion and I was thinking of what might happen if Mitt Romney was elected president and the first thing that I thought of was Mitt Romney. one question I have is what does the box mean?
@Aillen I was thinking really weirdly I thought of the mockingjay and that made me think of big bird and then I imagined big bird being the mocking jay and him rebelling against Mitt Romney because of his remark at the debate. @Glenda I wasn't trying to say anything about him winning, just about the big bird thing
I did not have a chance to write on the wall but I would have written "we shall be free" because the whole point of rebellions most of the time is freedom.
What I wrote in week 4 is " The opposite of lovisn't hate, it's indifference. But what I really wanted to write was nurture vs nature. I wrote this because a lot of people say people are born liars. Others think that they're taught not born with it, What Im saying is a person that is rebellious isn't born a rebel or a person isn't born a liar. They are taught by the environment by the people they live around them. The people in the intruders weren't born the way they were but were influenced or taught they way they were. A bad person that steals or hurts people wasn't like that when he was born but was taught by seeing others do it. My question is what does the box mean.
yea that's true, most of the time when I don't like some one, its most likely because we just think differently and we just don't seem to agee on a lot of things.
I did not get a chance to write on this wall but I would have written "Life sometimes needs changes." I would have written this because many people in other countries do not have what they want and what they need. So sometimes a change has to be dont.
I wrote "Troubles make rebels" because I believe that if everything is perfect, no one will complain. There are many ways to explain why and what I wrote on week 4's graffiti wall, but I can only say that I believe that rebels come out of anger and belief that they are being discriminated. If there if one against many, the rebels win. But, only because everyone believed that they were being treated wrongly. I thank all of the rebels who caught for us to be in this beautiful nation. If it weren't for rebels; there wouldn't be any United States of America. Rebels are in some cases helpful, but in other cases, dreadful.
On this graffiti wall I wrote "You are the Mockingjay Katniss". I wrote this because the whole Hunger Games just leads up to the point at which people break and they realize how badly they NEED freedom. Although freedom is necessary, it comes with a price. So many people die fighting for freedom and without a leader, there would be no organization in the fighting. This whole board reminds me of rebels. The picture in the middle could serve like a fuel for the fire and the words surrounding it could be like the flames. I don't really have any questions for this board.
I agree with you because many people want freedom but they don't know what the price of it is going to be whether it can be losing many people or losing the war just because they aren't prepared.
On week 4 I wrote change for the better. I wrote change for the better because when you make a change you have to do it for the better not so things get worse.
For this week, I wrote "Bad Influence". I wrote this because there are a lot of obstacles in the world that would try to bend what you truly want to do. Most of them are bad and will try to stop you like what happened to Malala but she didn't stop.
I don't remember writing on this wall so I really have no idea where I was when we did this but from what I can see this was when we finished reading "Catching Fire" which explains all of the Hunger Games quotes. And one question: Why did someone write "Mitt Romney"?
I had written "Racism isn't for the present" On this graffiti wall.I wrote this thinking about how so many people still criticize others based on their race, religion, who they chose to love, even what they like in general. So when our teacher asked us, what was the first thing that came into mind this week, I immediately thought of how racism is still very high in some places. The "idea" of this actually came from some ideas we've been talking about in class and such. I do have a question though, what did think outside the box have to do with anything? Or in general why did someone put that, what does it mean to you?
I definitely agree with you on this one because even not to long ago like the movie "prom night in Mississippi" that movie was filmed I believe in like 2008. And until that year they had separate proms, one for the whites one for the blacks. And I just couldn't believe it.
On this week, I wrote "This is no district 12" but I dont remember what the topic was or what we were writing on the promethean. I think it had to do with something about rebels and my quote ties back to Catching Fire and how rebels caused the capitol to destroy District 12.
I wrote " Nurture vs Nature" the reasoning behind that is because in class we were having discussions on it. On weather someone was born that way or the neighborhood grew the person to they're actions/behaviors. It really made me think on why people act they why they do (is it on purpose) or raised to act as is.
On this wall I wrote "change is possible if you try" just like katniss in the hunger games series, she is in the middle of a rebellion against the capitol. She is trying to make the change for remains of people and districts. She is doing anything she can to fight back against the Capitol. Another example is Malala Yousafazi. She stood up for what she thought was right, and yes, she got hurt. But look what she did, she made the whole world realize what's going on. She made people want to do something about the situation, there was change. And there wouldn't have been any of that if she didn't try and put everything on the line.
I'm pretty sure that i wasn't here on this day but I think that this probably about the hunger games series and all the discussions we had about the books and how they related to the real world. A couple of questions for this post would be what does the quote "Mitt romney" mean and whats that little drawing on the bottom?
I wrote the quote "give me liberty, or give me death" because slavery is no what our founding fathers fougt for. Either let me have my freedom, or you can go ahead ad execute me.
On this graffiti I was not able to write anything but just by looking at it and reading the comments I see that what everyone was writing is quotes of the past stories we have read most quotes are against a cause. Also some quotes are to motivate someone to do someone.
I wrote "no unfair power" because no matter who you are no one should have power over you that could hurt you in an emotional physical or any other way. The way the capitol had unfair power on the districts for so long.
I Wrote "We are in control of ourseleves" because one person could not be in control of everything. One Person is all it takes to create a chain reaction just like what katniss is doing in the book. When someone has enough power to do whatever they want to treat you however they want then you lose all control in being your own person. Its like what president snow is doing over the years people get tired and they no longer have fear in standing up for themselves. They lay it all on the table and are "in control of themselves".
I wrote "No Peace Without War" because the world basically functions like this where people don't like how things are, so conflicts arise, and eventually war happens, with the ending result of having peace once again.
For this wall, I wrote "Give me liberty, or give me death". I shared this comment with Jordan because we both thought that this was a very powerful statement. Many people agree that it is better to be dead than to live a life of slavery. This is a sentence that Ms. Widtman told us about as well.
I did not write anything on this poster but if I were to, I might've put "our government". I would put this because most citizens of our country protest on many decisions our government makes. But they have reasoning, and this quote explains their reasoning.
I posted 'Theyre turning us into monsters' because I think that people of higher power are not following our wants and needs and they make us turn into monsters/rebels by not following the people. I want to know why someone drew a box for this board.
ReplyDeleteI like the reasoning behind your quote it shows how even people from "lower ranks" can still have a say at what should happen to there lives.
DeleteI agree with you on how people with higher power should listen to ones that are lower than them. I think someone mentioned that the box went to think outside of the box. To think of things in a different way.
DeleteI agree with how your saying we should give less powerful people a voice

DeleteI agree I think no matter what rank anybody is they should have a right to speak themselves free.
DeleteI wrote "Life, Liberty, Pursuit of Happiness" because these words are what many nations that are under the control by a corrupt government want to have. A question that I have is why did someone draw a box? What does it mean?

DeleteThe box was drawn to symbolize "think outside the box."
DeleteI didn't get to write on this wall but I believe this graffiti resembles rebels
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think it resembles rebels?
Deletewere you thinking that like the illegal graffiti that people in like gangs or people that like to be bad do the graffiti. And maybe they do this because there a kind of group of rebels, against maybe.... society?

Can you explain why Mitt Romney came to mind, while we were talking about the rebellion? Im curious :D
DeleteI think that some people might have been happy to see Mitt Romney win, but it would be interesting to see this happen though.
Delete@Aillen I was thinking really weirdly I thought of the mockingjay and that made me think of big bird and then I imagined big bird being the mocking jay and him rebelling against Mitt Romney because of his remark at the debate. @Glenda I wasn't trying to say anything about him winning, just about the big bird thing
DeleteMitt Romney huh? Do you think he would lead a rebellion or something? If so, against what?
Deleteo wow jalyn! the things that go through your mind.
DeleteRebellion against Mitt Romney. I could see that happening.
DeleteNice train of thought Ja'lyn. Big Bird leading a rebellion against Mitt Romney. Great.
DeleteI did not have a chance to write on the wall but I would have written "we shall be free" because the whole point of rebellions most of the time is freedom.

ReplyDeleteIts true there are many bad influence out there but I think that if there's a will there's a way :)
DeleteThats true because we live in a country that sends the wrong message and try to persuade you with wrong ideas.
DeleteI don't remember writing on this wall so I really have no idea where I was when we did this but from what I can see this was when we finished reading "Catching Fire" which explains all of the Hunger Games quotes. And one question: Why did someone write "Mitt Romney"?

ReplyDeleteSo what do you think, does it matter where you grew up or who you grew up with.
DeleteNature vs Nurture is a very strong term. Excellent choice Izaiah.

ReplyDeleteI think the box means being surrounded or trapped.
DeleteI wrote You are the mockingjay, while you live so does the revolutio because it was from the book an dis a good qoute about rebilion.
ReplyDeleteWhen we were reading this in class I got the chills, It just perfect and so inspiring for the rebellion that they are living.
DeleteI wrote the quote "give me liberty, or give me death" because slavery is no what our founding fathers fougt for. Either let me have my freedom, or you can go ahead ad execute me.
